Allan Thrower manages specialist technical infrastructure and software support to the Faculty of Maths, Computing and Technology. He is closely involved in specifying the development of
Research Computing
services based on High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure including those offered by the
high performance 'IMPACT' computing cluster. Allan has extensive Unix/Linux systems management experience within large scale installations.
Recently, Alan has worked closely with Professors
Terry Griggs
and
Mike Grannell
in providing computational support for a major combinatorics research project.
