Mr David Clover
David Clover joined the Open University in 1979 after having worked at Oxford Polytechnic (now Oxford Brookes University). After a career as a generalist administrator and then as the OU's lead IT trainer and a secondment to BBC Education as IT Manager, he joined the former Faculty of Maths and Computing in 1996 as Faculty IT Manager. Since March 1 2008, David acts as the IT Development Manager for the Faculty of Mathematics, Computing and Technology. In that role, David plans and manages the development of the Faculty's web and information systems. In addition he co-ordinates the technical 'behind the scenes' server and technical infrastructure managed by colleague Allan Thrower. David also runs the 'Safe Computing' informational website and bulletin alert service on behalf of the Departments of Mathematics and Computing.
In his spare time, David Clover is researching the life and work of the Film Pioneer Alfred J West, who was active from 1897 until 1913. He has recently (2009) contributed an article to the 'Trafalgar Chronicle', the journal of the 1805 society.
