The OU is the largest provider of mathematics education modules in the UK.

Our mathematics education modules combine the theory of teaching mathematics with mathematics subject knowledge. They can be studied individually for professional development or combined with other study towards a range of academic awards, including an undergraduate degree or a graduate diploma.

The modules are open to anyone with an interest in the learning of mathematics, though they are intended particularly for teachers, teaching assistants, home-school parents and special educational needs coordinators. The level of mathematics subject knowledge required is good GCSE level. In order to complete the module assessments, you will need to be able to work with at least one learner of mathematics.
